Investor has a right to know the firms process of raising and resolving a complaint made by the investor and should be informed about the process of raising an issue to the appropriate level of firm’s management to gain satisfaction. Investor has a right to receive prompt response from investment firm, if facing any problem with the account. Investors have every right to know firm?s policies and practices for protecting the privacy of non-public, personal information. Investors have aright to receive accurate and timely account statement, investor should be clearly informed about cost associated with individual?s account and cost related to individual?s transactions.
Investor get rights when invested in shares and debentures. Investors have right to receive the share certificates, on allotment or transfer of shares. Right to receive copies of annual report containing the balance sheet, profit & loss account and auditor?s report and minute books of the annual general meeting. Investors have a right to vote in general meetings, right to receive dividends in due time and corporate benefits like rights, bonus, etc. Investor has a right to call or direct annual general meeting. Investor?s right as a debenture holder is to receive interest or redemption in due time and copy of trust deed on request. Investor has the right to apply for winding up of the company if company fails to pay its debts.
